Naivedhya Offerings to Baba

What you wish to offer as Naivedhya to Baba is entirely your choice. However, whether the offering can be distributed to other devotees in the Temple is subject to the following rules and regulations.

Items Not Distributed in the Temple

The following items cannot be distributed as prasad within the Temple premises or plaza. Home-cooked food offered to Baba must be taken back home after the offering. Devotees are not permitted to distribute food within the Temple premises or plaza.

  • Home-cooked food (must be taken back home after offering).
  • Sweets soaking in syrup (e.g., rasgolla, gulab jamun).
  • Liquid items (e.g., rasmalai, rabdi).
  • Grainy sweets (e.g., boondi).
  • Snack items in packets (e.g., sev, ghatia, murmura, poha, peanut chikki, sesame chikki).
  • Milk and milk products.
  • Items containing egg (e.g., donuts, croissants, cakes).
  • Cakes in any form (birthday cakes may be offered but must be taken back after offering).
  • Halwa.
  • Cookies, crackers, candies, chocolates.
  • Whole fruits requiring cutting to consume or distribute (e.g., watermelon, cantaloupe, pomegranate, honeydew, jackfruit).
  • Grapes, berries, cherries.

Note: Families wishing to bring Bhog in large quantities should email bhog@sainathmandir.org with your contact details, including a textable mobile number, and provide details such as the date and items you wish to bring.

Items Accepted for Distribution in the Temple

The following items may be distributed as prasad, subject to Temple approval. Items must be sourced from reputed vegetarian stores with high turnover, and the Temple reserves the right to inspect for freshness before distribution.

  • Samosas or appetizer-type items (from reputed vegetarian stores; subject to inspection).
  • Dry (non-sticky) sweets (from reputed stores with high turnover).
  • Dry fruits and nuts.
  • Accepted fruits: bananas, oranges and orange family, apples, pears, peaches, mangoes.
